What our separate vegetarian kitchen means
For a lot of vegetarian students β and for parents ordering from home β βpure vegβ is non-negotiable. It is not enough for a dish to have no meat on the plate; it matters that meat, fish and eggs never came near it. That is why our vegetarian meals are prepared in a dedicated vegetarian kitchen area, separate from where meat dishes are handled.
- βNo meat, fish or eggs in any vegetarian dish β the paneer, dal, chickpea and vegetable recipes are 100% plant-based and dairy where stated (paneer, ghee, butter).
- βDedicated preparation β vegetarian food is cooked in its own area to avoid cross-contamination with meat dishes.
- βFamily recipes, not a fryer β dishes are slow-cooked the way they are made at home, then frozen for delivery, so nothing is deep-fried to order like a takeaway.
- β5-star FSA hygiene rating β the kitchen holds a Food Standards Agency food hygiene rating of 5 (Brighton & Hove, rated Sept 2025).
We are 100% meat-free vegetarian; we do not currently run a separate onion-and-garlic-free Jain line, so we will always tell you honestly rather than over-claim.
Why UK students choose our vegetarian boxes
Moving away from home usually means the end of a proper home-cooked veg thali. Here is how a weekly box brings it back.
A week of dinners sorted
One weekly box holds 5β10 portions, so there is always a home-cooked veg meal in the fridge when lectures, labs or revision run late β no cooking from scratch, no last-minute takeaway.
Cheaper than daily takeaways
Splitting one box across the week works out lower per meal than ordering vegetarian curry in every night, and there is far less food waste because you heat only what you need.
Frozen Β· reheat to serve, no stress
Meals arrive frozen with a few days of fridge life and are keep frozen if you want to keep them longer. Heat to serve in minutes β ready when you are, no pans to scrub.
