Our kitchen halal policy, in plain terms
Every piece of meat we cook β chicken, lamb, mutton, keema β is halal. That is the single rule our kitchen runs on, so a Muslim student ordering from Saakshi's Kitchen can pick any meat dish on the menu without checking each one. There is no separate βhalal sectionβ to hunt for: the whole meat menu is halal by default.
We also cook without alcohol. No wine, no cooking sherry, nothing alcohol-based goes into a marinade, gravy or finishing sauce. Combined with halal meat, that means our biryani, curries and kebabs sit comfortably inside most Muslim households' everyday eating.
To be straight with you: this describes how we source and prepare meat in our own kitchen, not a third-party certification stamp on the box. If you would like to know which suppliers we buy from, message us before you order and we will tell you. We would rather you had the facts than a logo you cannot check.
Halal, mixed or pure veg β which box?
If you eat meat and simply want the reassurance that it is all halal, the Signature box is for you β it carries both meat and vegetable dishes through the week. If someone in your flat is vegetarian, our Pure Veg box is cooked separately from meat, so you can order both to the same address.
The meat menu behind the Signature box is exactly the halal menu described here; βHalalβ and βNon-Veg Mixedβ are two ways into the same kitchen, framed for two different students. Pick the page that matches what you are actually searching for and you land in the same reliable place.
Halal food that actually reaches your halls
Finding reliable halal food in your first term away from home is harder than it should be β campus outlets close early, the nearest halal grocer is three buses away, and cooking from scratch after a 9am lecture rarely happens. A weekly box of halal home-cooked meals, delivered frozen to your accommodation, takes that decision off your plate.
Keep the meals in the shared fridge, heat one to serve when you are hungry, and you have ghar ka khana without the Sunday-night meal prep. During Ramadan in particular, having suhoor and iftar sorted in advance is one less thing to organise around lectures and prayer.

No. We do not use wine, cooking alcohol or any alcohol-based ingredient in our marinades, gravies or sauces.
